Consistently coaxing the best out of people, teams and entire organizations is one of a leader’s greatest challenges. Mary Kelly has spent the last 20 years showing business owners and execs how to rise to that challenge — and reap the rewards of doing so — using a communications-focused approach that ignites peoples’ passions, fosters a fun workplace environment and maximizes productivity while minimizing stress.
Drawing from extensive experience in the business world, academia and the military, Kelly, author of the best-selling book Master Your World, is bent on making a leader’s job easier. She channels her work in naval intelligence and logistics through a business lens to create a leadership approach in which setting clear expectations for people fosters a positive work environment. The results she gets with CEOs, managers and team leaders speak to the power of that approach.
Born in Texas, Kelly is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and spent more than 20 years on active duty, retiring from the Navy as a commander. She holds Master’s degrees in history and economics, plus a PhD in economics, and has taught economics, finance, history and management at the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy and elsewhere.
Her guiding credo as a business consultant: “Great leadership is tough. Let’s make it easier.”
